Literally one of you have asked me:

Hey! Where’s a blog entry talking about your new book? Some of us bookmark the blog, not the front page, you know, so we need those news updates here, too. DETAILS!!!! GOSSIP!!!

OK! The new book, which just last week was purchased by Tor, is a thrill-a-minute, heartwarming and strangely erotic video-game tie-in novelization.  Working title:  Tetris: the New Adventures.  Can a shy and awkwardly-shaped L-shaped-block find its place in the world? Can a hard-bitten tough-guy square block beat the odds in a race against time to get to the bottom of the secrets of that apparently square-shaped hole? What of the forbidden love for each other of two T-shaped blocks? (Controversial!)

We’re hoping to start at least a twenty-book series, culminating in Tetris: Apocapylse, scheduled for 2019.  Your continued support is appreciated.

the boot

Richard Morgan puts the boot into Tolkein’s corpse, following in the footsteps of China Mieville, Michael Moorcock and others.  Lots of links and controversy and flaming and tantrums and cheap publicity ensue.

My personal opinion is that Tolkein seems to have been a nice man who was, like everyone else, basically doing his best, and the Lord of the Rings is very good if you like that sort of thing, but it’s OK if you don’t, too.

Controversial stuff!  But I’m not afraid to say it.

the thing

The thing about (supposedly) maintaining a blog is that the frequency of posting is an eerily accurate representation of one’s mood and energy levels over time. You could render posting frequency as a mood-chart, like an emotional EKG. It’s all very public.

Which is to admit that I have been sulking about various things.  This is a good winter for sulking, don’t you think?
