OCD?

Why am I doing this? What’s the point? What’s wrong with me?

UPDATE: now I’m adding all my old law school casebooks that I was too lazy to sell or throw away, this can’t be normal can it?

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

you are an exceptionally articulate and well-mannered spambot

but you, sir, are a spambot

You logged over 700 books? When did this happen? I do not recall seeing you making notes in front of our shevles. Yet, surely you do not actually remember the title of every book in the house… Mutant.

Next time you wish embark on a lunatic task of this kind let me know and we can go for a walk instead.

Turns out I’ve managed to get 144 records from my collection listed on discogs without even realising it. I’m actually quite surprised, I thought I’d only have about 30 on there.

700 is pretty impressive though, can you just search for an author / genre etc and scroll through and click on things to add them or do you have to manually enter everything?

  5. felix Says:

    search and click

or apparently if you’ve gone completely shamelessly mad you can buy an ISBN-reading wand that does it for you, but that seems like a step too far

i wait ’till you’re out of the room, like i’m hiding a drinking problem

I know what to get you for your birthday then.

Maybe you could set up another identity on there and scan all the books that you’d vaguely like to own to that so you’ve got a want list too. Or even go truly schizophrenic and create multiple aliases and try to imagine what sort of books they’d have.

  8. Sarah Says:

Ack! If he starts trying to break down our bookshelves into which partial personality would own each volume, I’m blaming you Ben. Besides, it will only reflect badly on me as I am sure (or at least sure that sure Felix will claim) that I own all the junk books.

  9. Benedict Says:

It’s the point at which he starts organising them into the layout that each partial personality would choose that you need to really worry.
