A Polymath
Amazon.co.uk lists Enid Blyton as the author of the Quixote.
Is someone at Amazon a Borges fan? I would assume so, except that Blyton is also listed as the author of A History of the Post Office in Tasmania, Japan’s International Finance: Today and Tomorrow, Moral Issues in Military Decisionmaking, Cool Cooking: Recipes of Your Favorite Rock Stars, The Function of the Sciences and the Meaning of Man, The Morphology and Pathogenicity of the Bladder Worms, the Victa Mower Division Victa Mower and Engine Workshop Manual, and an impressive 29,907 other titles.
We British are very proud of Enid Blyton, and we like to see her get the credit she deserves.

That was very well done.
I have no particular views on Richard Rorty. His security detail never let me close enough to see him.

But Richard Rorty might have asked you who the President of England was. (Different Crooked Timber thread.)
You know, I was always certain that the Famous Five went on to have more adventures after reading the first four books which I found here in the US as a kid. I hadn’t guessed it was quite their further adventures were so esoteric, though. Maybe this is some of the stuff that George’s father was always working on in his office.

Timothy, I assume you’re a different Timothy Burke from Tim & Sandra who were the previous tenants in the flat I’ve just bought? If not that’s a hugely freaky coincidence. Plus I’m still getting quite a bit of your mail, let me know if you want me to do anything with it.
